Wedgewood Service Day: Helping End Hunger in Southern Nevada

Team members from Wedgewood’s Las Vegas office recently partnered with Three Square Food Bank, a leading hunger relief organization in Southern Nevada, to help sort and organize donated food products and assemble lunch bags for children in need.

This service day was part of “Wedgefest,” a series of community service events Wedgewood organizes annually in partnership with local non-profit organizations, foundations, and charities aligning with Wedgewood's core purpose to revitalize communities. Wedgefest events provide opportunities for employees to embody Wedgewood's core value of “be a good neighbor” and represent the company's commitment to making a positive impact within the local communities in which they operate.

Three Square’s mission is to provide wholesome food to hungry people while passionately pursuing a hunger-free community. President and Chief Executive Officer Beth Martino oversees one of the fastest-growing food banks in the nation, furthering Three Square’s efforts to provide food to those facing hunger today and to make measurable strides in ending hunger in the future. From 2021-2022, Three Square distributed more than 42 million meals, the equivalent of more than 51 million pounds of food and grocery products, through its network of community partners.

Justin Bruni, Senior Vice President of Wedgewood Homes, shared his thoughts on the day– “Wedgewood is proud to support Three Square Food Bank and their mission to end hunger in Southern Nevada. Our team enjoyed volunteering at the Three Square campus to pack and sort food. We believe that being a good neighbor means giving back to the communities we serve, and we are inspired by the work that Three Square does every day. We look forward to continuing our partnership with them and making a positive difference to help end hunger.”
