At one time or another, many people have said, “I love my job so much I’d do it for free.” When he was looking to leave his early career at Procter & Gamble, Wedgewood Homes Executive Vice President and President of Wedgewood Commercial, David Wehrly did just that, offering to work for free as Wedgewood got off the ground in the early 1980s.

In a recent profile for Modern Luxury, Wehrly looked back to those early days with the company and forward to its ongoing expansion and growth. The key to success no matter where you are in your career? According to Wehrly, it comes down to old-school values.

“Find good mentors, create good relationships, be honorable, take risks, get back up when you fail, and always do the right thing,” he said.
